It also helps\u00a0develop fine motor skills\u00a0and imagination.\u00a0 Instead of going out and buying Play Doh, \u00a0make it at home! It&#8217;s super easy, inexpensive, and a perfect project for the kids to help with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">What you will need:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">white flour \u2013 1 cup<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">warm water \u2013 1 cup<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">salt \u2013 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">cream of tartar \u2013 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">cooking oil \u2013 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Jello \u2013 1 3oz pack<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3487 aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/iheartkids.smcse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/kaleyann_playdough_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mix all of the ingredients together in a small saucepan.<\/p>\n<p>Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens into a ball of dough. \u00a0This step does take a little while.\u00a0 Just keep stirring, you&#8217;ll know it&#8217;s ready when won&#8217;t be able to stir anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Once it has finished cooking, place the dough onto a\u00a0silpat mat\u00a0or floured cutting board and wait for it to cool.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3488 aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/iheartkids.smcse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/kaleyann_playdough_07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"641\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once it is cool (at least 20-30 minutes) let the little ones knead it, adding in flour until it is no longer sticky (about 1\/2 cup). \u00a0At this point, you can add in extra food coloring to make the colors more vibrant, or even add glitter. \u00a0And thats it!
